April 26th to May 7th, 2004, the governments of the world will gather at the United Nations to discuss the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Treaty - NP&DT). In the NP&DT, the nuclear weapons states promised to eliminate their nuclear arsenals. Instead, the US hypocritically manipulates the treaty as an excuse to bomb or threaten other countries - starting with Iraq, Iran, and North Korea - said to be seeking nuclear arms, while totally ignoring its own promise to get rid of its massive arsenal and adding new "usable" nuclear bombs.
Let us take to the streets- nonviolently- united in our opposition to the growing threat of nuclear war. It's time to rid the world of all nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, and to create genuine security for future generations.

Dear
Friends,
On May 1, people will take to the streets of New York City demanding No
More Nuclear Excuses for War. Following the March 20th International Day
of Protest against the war and occupation in Iraq, we will demand an end to
perpetual war by calling for the abolition of the one weapon that epitomizes
a culture of war, destruction and human annihilation. So long as there are nuclear
weapons there will be war. So long as some countries have these weapons, others
will seek them, too.
The US went to war over a hyped-up threat of nuclear weapons in Iraq. Whats
to stop it from going to war against another country for its real or imagined
nuclear weapons? How do we stop other countries from getting the bomb? The only
path to nonproliferation is by upholding the rule of international law that
prohibits nuclear weapons development and mandates nuclear disarmament by ALL
nations.
The afternoon before this mass rally, on April 30, we will be holding a Forum
on Nuclear Abolition, Proliferation and War: What You Need to Know and
What You Can Do.
These two events will coincide with the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Treaty
wherein nuclear weapons states promised to eliminate their nuclear weapons.
The US has used this treaty hypocritically to bomb and threaten other countries
while ignoring its legal obligation to get rid of its own nuclear arsenal. Thousands
of Iraqis and hundreds of Americans and other nationals have died because of
the lies Bush told about the supposed Iraqi threat.
We are all united against war. It is time that we as the peace movement begin
to examine the causes for perpetual war and work to dismantle the deadly weapons
that perpetuate the war machine. We cannot abolish war without abolishing nuclear
weapons. And we cant fight for disarmament without your help.

Lots of political flash animation- the opening page features a "campaign
