Stop the arms fair, stop the war profiteering
From 9-11 September 2017, the United Kingdom will host the world's largest arms fair, DSEI (Defence and Security Equipment International). Arms dealers and war profiteers from all over the world will gather to review and purchase the latest technologies of violence. A biennial event, this year it is occurring the week before the third conference of states parties to the Arms Trade Treaty - the world's first treaty that regulates international transfers of weapons. But many of the ATT's states parties will be at the arms fair just the week before.
Activists will be gathering in London from 4-11 September to Stop the Arms Fair. They will be blockading the road to prevent weapons from reaching the exhibition site, creating art and other creative street demonstrations, and sharing knowledge and information about the international arms trade.
