Draft resolution L.47
Nuclear disarmament
Chinese delegation
Mr. Chairman,
The Chinese delegation voted for the draft resolution A/C.1/58/L.47
entitled, "Nuclear Disarmament." China supports the objectives
and the main thrust of this resolution, and agrees with some important
nuclear disarmament measures contained in it.
However, under the current international situation, it is premature
to implement some specific nuclear disarmament measures contained
in this resolution. We are of the view that any nuclear disarmament
measures, including interim steps, must follow the principle of
maintaining global strategic stability and undiminished security
for all countries.
