Thank you Madame President. Madame, on this occasion I would like to express my delegation's deep gratitute for you Madame for the manner in which you have guided the deliberations of the conference and also pay tribute to all of the other efforts that you have made in conjunction with the other Presidents in order for us to reach a program of work for this Conference. I would also like to associate myself with the statement that we heard by the distinguished representative of Algeria on behalf of the Arab countries members on the Conference on Disarmamant.

Madame, we consider the issue document in L1. We consider it a positive development that could constitute a good foundation for allowing the Conference in discharging its responsibilities and its work. Previously, the occasion was allowed me to express a number of points of interest and concerns to my delegation. The ones related to the current initiative we have before us. At the same time, we understand the number of comments that we have heard by a number of delegations. We are of the opinion that all efforts have got to be made in order for these comments to be taken into consideration within the limits that would respond to the interest of all participating delegations in this respect. And underlining the positive orientation on the part of our delegation towards this initative and the understanding that the greatest amount of flexibility has got to be shown in order for this initiative to be moved forward.

Madame, we have responded to your request and provided you with our specific details in a framework in line with what you yourself have expressed that is to say the formula of the initiative and we hope that this effort on our part would allow us to attain a common objective to allow us to discharge its responsibilities.

Madame, we look forward to see what effort will be determined by the Presidency in order for the comprehensive consultations to be carried out amongst all members in order to reach the appropriate formula to take into consideration all the comments in the end that all seek to maximize the benefits of the initiative submitted to us.
