Transcribed Statement of the Ambassador of Colombia Mr. Camilo Reyes Rodriguez to the Conference on Disarmament

As you all know, and as a result of intensive and formal consultations, the President has made a proposal, which if agreed to would enable us to appoint coordinators to deal with three specific subject areas of a procedural nature. In presidential consultations held yesterday I was given official reactions from coordinators to this proposal. By and large it is a positive reaction and it is also clear that it is necessary to use a little more time in order to try and take a specific decision on the subject. Therefore, it is my intention to take up this possibility next week and indeed I hope that it will be possible to take a decision in the next plenary, if this is the indication that is given by all participating in the Conference.
