Thank you Madame President.
The Chinese delegation warmly congratulates Ambassador Rocca and her assumption as the President of the CD.  We are also very pleased that Ambassador Rocca, you have brought Gender Perspective into the CD, we hope that it will inject vitality into CD.  We hope that you will successfully carry out your task. The Chinese delegation will fully support your work.

Second. The Chinese delegation has taken note that in your remark,s you have made very clear your wishes, that is, we hope that the CD will reach consensus on work program even though it might be a bit late. We have also taken note that since the 2nd phase of this session, relevant delegations have expressed various kinds of views on the work of the CD including concerns.  We sincerely hope that the relevant parties will continue to make efforts to further constructive dialogue and consultations as to narrow their differences and to reach as early as possible a program of work which is acceptable to all.

Thirdly, we have taken note that Ambassador Rocca in her remarks has proposed that, before reaching consensus on the program of work, in late July and in August, to conduct informal discussions under working the CD.  We have also taken note that the respective Ambassador of Russia and the issue of PAROS has put forward specific proposals. China fully supports them.  In general, the Chinese delegation is ready with all other delegations to make joint efforts to push forward progress in CD.
