Thank you Mr. President.

In fact, I feel obliged to express the appreciation of my Delegation for your hard leadership in guiding the discussions on the 2009 annual draft agenda, which is adopted today by consensus. You have shown professionalism and you have done a very hard work in extensive formal and informal meetings. Also we appreciate the spirit of compromise and cooperation of all delegations which lead us to adopt the report today. Our thanks also go to the secretariat Ambassador Sergei Ordzhonikidze and his very able team.

Mr. President,
we all know how much the adoption of the annual agenda was sensitive after the failure of the Conference to implement its Programme of Work. Although this annual report may not be an outstanding achievement for the CD, it is the manifestation of the will of Members of the Conference to achieve consensus and forward the work of the conference.

We hope that this report will provide a good spirit for our fresh efforts in adopting the Programme of Work of the Conference in 2010.
